블로그를 시작하며 도메인을 세 개나 구매했다.

처음엔 모두 연결 가능한 줄 알고,
특별한 고민 없이 .co.kr부터 연결했다.
그런데 티스토리는 도메인 1개만 연결 가능했다.

놀랍게도,
티스토리 관리자에서는 .co.kr 도메인을 따로 삭제하지 않아도 .com으로 변경이 가능했다.
즉, 자동연결이 완료되지 않은 상태였기 때문에,
티스토리에서 새로 도메인을 연결할 수 있었던 것이다.
처음부터 연결에 성공하지 않았기에 생긴 ‘우연한 여지’였다.
하지만 만약 연결이 이미 완료된 상태였다면,
티스토리 관리자 페이지에서 기존 도메인 연결을 먼저
삭제했어야 했을 것이다.
이 부분이 사람들을 가장 혼란스럽게 만드는 지점이다.
도메인 업체에서는 삭제 안 해도 된다?
도메인 업체(hosting.kr) 쪽에서
co.kr 연결을 유지한 채,
.com으로만 티스토리 연결을 완료했다.
이 상황에서 중요한 건:
도메인 업체에서 도메인 연결을 삭제했다고 해도,
티스토리에서 별도로 삭제하지 않으면
티스토리에는 연결이 남아있는 걸로 처리된다.
즉, 도메인 업체에서의 설정 삭제는
티스토리와 직접 연결되지 않는다.

without removing the existing .co.kr domain

Since the first domain had never been successfully connected,
Tistory let me add the new domain right away.
It was a lucky break due to the incomplete connection.
But if the old domain had been fully connected,
I would’ve needed to delete it manually first.
That’s the part where many users get confused.
What About the Domain Provider’s Settings?
At hosting.kr, I kept the old .co.kr settings intact
and connected the new .com domain directly to Tistory.
Here’s the key point:
Even if you delete the domain setting from your provider,
Tistory won’t automatically unlink it.
The connection status in Tistory is managed separately.
So, deleting DNS records from the provider
doesn’t affect what Tistory recognizes as “connected.”
