NASA, 알마관측소, 한국천문연구원 같은 사이트에 접속하면
실시간 우주 데이터와 사진이 펼쳐지죠.
하지만 우리는 도메인 주소만 입력했을 뿐인데,
어떻게 그렇게 정확한 정보에 연결될 수 있었을까요?
바로 DNS(Domain Name System) 덕분이에요.
DNS는 우리가 입력한 almaobservatory.org 같은 도메인 이름을
숫자로 된 IP 주소로 바꿔주는 시스템이에요.
하늘의 좌표처럼, 웹사이트의 위치도 DNS가 찾아주는 거죠.
🛰️ 내 블로그도 ‘우주 지도’에 표시되려면
티스토리 블로그도 마찬가지예요.
도메인을 구입했다고 해서 자동으로 구글에 검색되진 않아요.
먼저 구글 서치 콘솔에 등록해
"이 블로그는 내 거예요!"라고 알려줘야 해요.
이 과정을 도메인 소유권 인증이라고 해요.
구글 서치 콘솔에 접속해서 속성 추가를 누르고,
내가 구입한 도메인 주소를 입력해요.
그러면 구글이 특수한 TXT 레코드 코드를 하나 줍니다.
이 코드를 복사해서, 도메인을 구입한 사이트(예: 호스팅KR)에서
DNS 설정 메뉴에 들어가 TXT 레코드를 추가하면 끝!
이후 약 10~30분 정도 기다리면 구글이 코드를 인식해서
도메인 소유권을 확인하게 돼요.
🔭 망원경 초점처럼 중요한 HTTPS 인증
하지만 아직 끝난 게 아니에요.
구글이 블로그를 크롤링하고 검색에 노출하려면,
블로그 자체에 **보안 접속 인증서(HTTPS)**도 발급돼 있어야 해요.
이건 마치 망원경 렌즈의 초점 맞추기 같아요.
망원경이 있어도 초점이 흐리면 별이 안 보이듯,
블로그 주소에 https 보안이 잡히지 않으면
구글은 블로그를 제대로 읽지 못해요.
이 인증서 발급은 T스토리 관리자 페이지에서 자동으로 진행되지만,
시간이 걸릴 수 있어요. 보통 2시간~4시간 사이 기다리면
'발급 완료'로 바뀌고, 이때부터 본격적인 검색 등록이 가능해져요.
✍️ 그럼 언제부터 검색되나요?
구글 서치 콘솔에 도메인을 등록하고,
DNS 소유권 인증 + 보안인증서까지 끝나면
최소 2~3시간 후부터 구글 검색 결과에 서서히 반영돼요.
하지만 바로 노출되진 않아요.
검색 엔진이 내 블로그를 ‘읽을 가치가 있다’고 판단해야 하거든요.
그래서 강의에서는 꼭 이렇게 말해요:
“기다리는 동안 게시글을 20개 이상 써두세요.”
게시물이 많을수록 구글이 더 빨리, 더 신뢰 있게 블로그를 크롤링해요.

The answer is DNS—the Domain Name System.
DNS converts a human-readable domain name like almaobservatory.org into a machine-readable IP address.
Just like celestial coordinates help us find a star in the sky, DNS helps your computer find the right server on the internet.
🛰️ Your Blog Also Needs a “Space Map” to Be Seen
Just owning a domain doesn’t mean your blog will appear in Google search results.
You have to register it with Google Search Console to prove:
“Yes, this site is mine.”
This process is called domain ownership verification.
You go to Google Search Console, click “Add property,” and enter your purchased domain.
Then Google gives you a unique TXT record—a short line of code.
You copy that code, go to your domain provider (like HostingKR), and insert it into the DNS settings under TXT records.
After waiting about 10 to 30 minutes, Google will verify your ownership automatically.
🔭 HTTPS Is the Focus Ring on Your Telescope
But ownership verification alone isn’t enough.
For Google to crawl and index your blog, it needs to detect a valid HTTPS security certificate.
Think of it this way:
A telescope without focus shows nothing clearly.
Likewise, a blog without HTTPS doesn’t appear “clear” to Google’s crawler.
Even if the domain is registered, if HTTPS is still "pending," your blog might remain invisible.
Fortunately, Tistory issues HTTPS automatically.
You just need to wait 2 to 4 hours until the security status changes to “Completed.”
Once that happens, your blog becomes crawlable and indexable.
⏳ When Will It Appear in Search?
Even after DNS verification and HTTPS setup,
your blog won’t show up on Google right away.
